Chimney repairs, repointing & leadwork

Chimneys take the full force of the weather. When the mortar starts to crumble or the lead flashing fails, water finds its way in around the stack. We restore chimneys with a full rake-out and repoint, new leadwork and a new flaunching to the chimney top.

FAQs

Chimneys & leadwork: your questions answered

Can't see your question? Call 07592 992052 or message us on WhatsApp.

01How do I know if my chimney needs repointing?

Look for mortar that is crumbling, recessed or missing between the bricks, and for damp on the chimney breast inside. If you're not sure, book a free inspection and we'll take a look.

02Can you replace the lead flashing around my chimney?

Yes. We install new lead flashing to give a long-lasting, weatherproof seal where the chimney meets the roof.

03What is flaunching?

Flaunching is the sloped mortar bed on top of the chimney stack that holds the pots in place and sheds rainwater. When it cracks, water can get into the stack.
